Scorpio cat does whatever a scorpio cat does

Squaredy Scorpions are next on our agenda! ;) jk

We probably had a new fave every day, but in retrospect, I think the Scorpio Squaredy Cat turned out the coolest. Just the idea of turning something as deadly as a scorpion into a cute creature was a daunting task, but making it somehow from a Squaredy Cat seemed impossible at first. The idea we had a while ago of putting Squaredy Cats into costumes gave us a method of transforming almost anything into a cute cat…or our cute cat into anything. We hope you loved the sting of our Scorpio :)

A Well-balanced Squaredy Cat

The Zodiac Squaredy Cats were such a hit, we decided we definitely want to do more themed sets. When we asked fans on our Facebook page we were blown away by how many great ideas you had! We hope we can do most or all of them, but some are going to be a real challenge.
We hope all the Libras out there enjoyed their cat as much as we enjoyed making her.

Cat's got your tongue

Gene Simmons as a Squaredy Cat.

As you've no doubt, already guessed, we've made all four original members of the iconic rock band, KISS into Squaredy Cats. You've already seen Peter Criss (Kiss' original cat), and we'll be uploading the other members sporadically. For the record, none of our "fandom" Squaredy Cats images will ever be for sale in any form - t-shirt, sticker, plush, or otherwise. These are just for fun, and we're always up to hearing your ideas for more.
Of the four KISS Squaredy Cats, Gene Simmons was probably the most fun to do. He's by far, the most outspoken member of the group, and his character is an extension of his personality. Aside from the "getting girls" side of Gene Simmons' reasons for being a rock star, he's very interested in positive messages. Much of his music says, "We did it, and you can too. Don't let them say you can't." We hope Squaredy Cats can be inspirational and motivational too. Don't let anyone say you can't do whatever it is you want to do! Look - a guy decided to dress up in a costume, and play rock and roll for a living, and he DID it. Your dream is not ridiculous. Get going, and BE IT!

Ergo, Virgo

We are presenting the Zodiac Squaredy Cats in the order they appear on their calendar. The last one we showed was Leo. Ergo, we present Virgo, the pure.
This one was slightly awkward in designing it, but we are ultimately happy with the results. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page where later today we will post Libra, and tomorrow… the long awaited and requested Scorpio! You're going to love that one!

Roar a little

If your store doesn't carry Squaredy Cats… roar a little ;)

Our series of Zodiac Squaredy Cats continues with Leo, the lion. The inspiration to do the Zodiac set came from our "wild" series' "not squared to be fierce" cat. Actually the inspiration and design are flipped. When we were working out the look of the lion's mane our original "fierce" cat was colored more like this one, but we wanted that one to be a little friendlier. Since we were theming the Zodiac Squaredy Cats with more earthy colors when possible we had the opportunity to go back to the brown mane. We hope you like our Leo. "I'm king of the squarey world!"

Looking over a Squaredy clover

There's a lot of great music that comes from Irish artists. When you think of Irish music do you think of traditional line dancing or bagpipes? We think of Black 47, The Corrs, The Chieftains, The Cranberries, House of Pain, The Pogues, and U2. Happy St. Patrick's Day :)

Erin go Meow

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone. We hope you enjoy another safe and happy holiday with our greenest Squaredy Cat ever. This is one of our earlier designs. We couldn't wait to post it, but March seemed to take forever to get here. If you find a four-leaf clover make a wish, and make it a good one. We're not sure if the "wish for infinite more wishes" thing really works, but you may as well give it a shot.

Squaredy, I hear you calling…

A Squaredy Cat as Peter Criss, the original drummer from KISS.

We've already had suggestions and requests to make some of the "fandom" Squaredy Cats available for sale as pins or t-shirts, but we just can't do it. Sorry, folks. These are just for fun.
We were genuinely surprised that there were so few who recognized this famous cat. Maybe it's a sign of the times that this was confused with Lady Gaga? Either way, we have three more of the KISS cats coming. Maybe the other members will be more easily recognized. Rock on, Squaredy Cats fans :)

Attack of the cutest crab!

Tired of old, crusty crabs? We are too. It's time to put your Zodiac-ac-ac-ack on, and groove to the cutest crabby ever! We continued our Zodiac collection with this Squaredy Cat dressed as a delicious *** oops, we mean *adorable* crab. If Cancer is your sign, say, "Click-click!"
Watch for more after St Patrick's Day. We've got to show you some green before we continue with the Zodiacs.

2 for 1

Our Zodiac series continues with Gemini, the twins. Do you have two sides to your personality?
Of all the Zodiac Squaredy Cats we designed, this may have been the easiest one. At least it seemed the most obvious. We gave it a little extra by adding the David Bowie eyes. Keep looking. Your sign is coming if it hasn't already.

Mess with the Squaredy Cat, get the horns.

A Squaredy Cat as Taurus, the bull.

The Zodiac collection continues with Taurus, the bull. We had a ton of fun putting costumes on the cats that needed to represent other animals. We love how kitty ears can translate to bull ears in the hood she's (we know bulls are boys) wearing. In the initial design for this we had the nose ring that is sometimes associated with the bull, but it looked awkward at best, and too much like a goatee at worst. Ultimately, we made the paws into fists to show strength. Squaredy Cat is strong, like bull.

Not squared of astrology

Not squared of the Zodiac.

We had the idea recently to design a set of Squaredy Cats based on the signs of the Zodiac. So last week we designed them. We'll be posting them on the blog, of course; but you can see them first on the Squaredy Cats Facebook page. They were so much fun to design, and we look forward to your comments. We're very proud of this set.
The first to be posted is the first sign of the Zodiac - Aries. Aries is the ram. Have you seen a cuter ram costume than the one this cat is wearing?

Make your wish your goal

Do you believe in Squaredy Cats?

This one is supposed to inspire you to be the one to make your own wishes come true. To sparkle and shine you're going to need to sweat a little.
We only have a few left from the batch we designed for our big plush presentation. We'd show you the 3D drawings but we can't because it's likely they'll be made for real :)
This one is a better attempt at doing a fairy cat than the princess cat we designed in late 2008. We're thinking the evolution is happening successfully because of all the different ideas we have.

We promise not to vanish

The Cheshire Squaredy Cat. Apologies to Lewis Carroll.

We thought it would be fun to start a "fandom" tag for our blog and a "fandom" photo album for our Facebook page. There are plenty of pop culture and sub-culture icons that we and our fans would love to see as Squaredy Cats. We can't sell any of the images, but we can appreciate the ability to show homage to those icons that inspire us. We hope you liked our Squaredy Cats version of the Cheshire Cat; but unlike the Lewis Carroll character from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland we don't intend to disappear ;)

Eight arms and nine lives!

This itsy bitsy Squaredy Cat is in costume.

We wanted to hold out until Halloween to post this cat, but we just couldn't wait. We have a bunch of cats we designed for Halloween before we started the blog and Facebook pages. Should we wait until October to post them?
This itsy bitsy Squaredy Cat was actually designed around the same time as the "not squared to bug you" cat, and not necessarily for Halloween, but since it's fun and spooky we're tagging it that way. Joining the other costumed Squaredy Cats this wall crawler can scare away those creepy little critters so you don't have to be squared.

We'll sweeten the deal

Maybe peppermint isn't necessarily the sweetest of choices for a lollipop that's supposed to represent "sweet." Cut us a break ;) this is another one of our earlier cats that we hadn't posted until now. This is the first, and possibly the only (if I'm not mistaken) that has eyebrows to this point. Perhaps we'll revisit this one. Friends seem to like the concept, but maybe the image doesn't work as well as it could have. What do you think? Should we do a new, updated version?

We're watching you

Inspired by the original Sherlock Holmes costume, this curious Squaredy Cat was made to combine the old with the new. We're curious to know which cats you like, so we like to try different looks to see what you react to. We're watching and listening. Leave comments on the Squaredy Cats Blog or on the Squaredy Cats Facebook page.

Buggin' Out!

Squaredy bug, squaredy bug, fly away home.

This Squaredy Cat was amongst a group we designed especially to show [plush company] for the possibility to have them make plush from our Squaredy Cats. We'd already expanded our original ideas to incorporate more costumes on the cats. This wasn't the first, but it was among the early group that opened doors for us to achieve cuter and cuter cats as we move along. You'll get to see more down the line, and we can't wait to show them to you!
The lady bug costume we designed for this cat in two dimensions didn't translate well to the 3D version, so if this one ever gets made it will have a little bit of a different look. Let us know what you think, and please send us your ideas! We love to hear from you!
